This is an example of a 'Chain E-Mail'/Hoax, simply ignore it as all it does it waste peoples time and network resources. Treat them as you would a normal chain letter, bin it!

It is NOT real.

You can find more information at the FCC.

Please share this with everyone! We don't need to sit back and be passive on this one. This is really scary and once you read it you'll realize that CBS would even be forced to discontinue "Touched By An Angel" because they use the word "God" in every program.

Madeline Murray O'Hare, an atheist, successfully eliminated the use of Bible reading and prayer from schools fifteen years ago. Her organization has now been granted a Federal Hearing on the same subject by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, D.C. Their petition, No.2493, would ultimately pave the way to stop the reading of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on the airwaves of America.

They took this petition with 287,000 signatures to back their stand. If this attempt is successful, all Sunday Worship services being broadcast either by radio or television will stop. This group is also campaigning to remove all Christmas programs, Christmas songs and Christmas carols from public schools. You can help! We need one million signed letters. This would defeat their effort and show that there are many Christians alive, well and concerned in our country. Please print this letter then cut off and sign the form below.

PLEASE DO NOT SIGN JOINTLY, such as Mr. & Mrs. Each person should sign one letter separately, and mail it in separate envelopes. Be sure to put "Petition 2495" ON THE ENVELOPE when you mail the letter. This has to go out regular mail. It's important that you do it right away.

Please e-mail this letter to all your friends and relatives and to anyone else you feel led to. Or photo copy it and mail it. Christians must unite on this. Please do not take this lightly. We did once and lost prayer in schools and in offices across the nation. We cannot let this attempt succeed.

Re: Petition 2493

Dear Sirs; I am an American and am very thankful for my American Heritage. Our forefathers founded this country under the premise of a strong belief and faith in God and his principles. I am also very much aware of the role that our Christian faith has played in the freedom that we Americans now enjoy. Therefore, I protest any effort to remove from radio or television, programs designed to nurture faith in God, or to remove Christmas programs, Christmas songs and Christmas carols from public airwaves, schools, office buildings, etc.

Here's another version:

THOUGH SHE'S DEAD AND HAS JUST BEEN LOCATED, AFTER 5 YEARS, THIS LADY CONTINUES TO HAUNT US FROM HER SHALLOW GRAVE. GET THIS:

CBS will be forced to discontinue "Touched by an Angel" for using the word "God" in every program.

Madeline Murray O'Hare, an atheist, successfully managed to eliminate the use of Bible reading from public schools a few years ago.

Now her organization has been granted a Federal Hearing on the same subject by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, DC.

Their petition, Number 2493, would ultimately pave the way to stop the reading of the gospel our Lord and Savior, on the airwaves of America.

They got 287,000 signatures to back their stand! If this attempt is successful, all Sunday worship services being broadcast on the radio or by television will be stopped. This group is also campaigning to remove all Christmas programs and Christmas carols from public schools!!

You as a Christian can help!

We are praying for at least 1 million signatures. This would defeat their effort and show that there are many Christians alive, well and concerned about our country. As Christians we must unite on this.

Please don't take this lightly. We ignored this lady once and lost prayer in our school and in offices across the nation. Please stand up for your religious freedom and let your voice be heard.

Together we can make a difference in our country while creating an opportunity for the lost to know the Lord.

Please press "forward," CLEAN UP THE MESSAGE, and forward this to everyone that you think should read this.

Now, please sign your name at the bottom (you can only add your name after you have pressed the "Forward."

Don't delete any other names, just go to the next number and type your name. Please do not sign jointly, such as Mr. & Mrs. Each person should sign his/her own name.

Please e-mail this to everyone that you think needs to read this, and help us defeat this organization and keep the right of our freedom of religion.

When you get to 1000 please e mail back to Lisa Norman at

Here's what the FCC has to say about this petition:

"These rumors are untrue. In December 1974, Jeremy D. Lansman and Lorenzo W. Milam filed a petition (RM-2493) asking the FCC to inquire into the operating practices of stations licensed to religious organizations, and not to grant any new licenses for new noncommercial educational broadcast stations until the inquiry had been completed. The FCC denied this petition on August 1, 1975. Ms. O’Hair was not a sponsor of this petition."

Please ignore any messages regarding this "chain e-mail" and do not pass on any messages regarding it. Passing on messages about this serves only to further propagate it.
